Success, innovation, pedagogical transformation, professional integration, internationalization of courses: students at the Université de Rouen Normandie (URN) are trained to meet the challenges of today’s and tomorrow’s world.
Thanks to its multi-disciplinary approach, the University pays particular attention to the democratization of higher education, as well as to the economic and social development of the region.
It is involved in several major projects on a national and even international scale.
The CEROUEN
Recognized by the International Olympic Committee, the University of Rouen Normandy’s Olympic Studies and Research Centre (CEROUEN) aims to federate, energize and highlight the research and teaching activities and projects that revolve around the values of Olympism – respect, friendship, excellence – and Paralympism – courage, determination, inspiration, equality – within the URN.

TRANSITION

With TRANSITION – winner of the ExcellencES France 2030 call for projects, URN and its partners will be developing innovative, cross-disciplinary research over an eight-year period (2024-2032) to address multi-hazard issues in the context of environmental change, particularly climate change, and inform decision-making by local and national players.
INGENIUM
URN is part of the INGENIUM European University Alliance, created in 2020 as part of the “European Universities” initiative launched by the European Commission via the Erasmus+ program. The aim of this initiative is to create higher education training programs that include teaching and research collaborations in different fields of specialization, facilitate internship or study mobility to strengthen scientific collaboration, and enable the setting up of European projects.

COP HERL
Following the fire at Lubrizol and Normandie Logistique on September 26, 2019, Rouen’s scientific community rallied around a multidisciplinary research project based on the study of Potential Consequences for Man and the Environment, Perception and Resilience: COP HERL. Financed by the Normandy Region (own and European funds), the Rouen Normandy Metropolis, the French National Research Agency and the Rouen Normandy University, COP HERL brings together 19 laboratories and over 100 scientific and technical staff.
