The Université de Rouen Normandie is proud to be a public institution of higher education. While this reflects our values and commitments, it also means that we have a vital role to play in defending public service.

Being part of the public service of higher education and research means a lot. URN is committed to sharing, welcoming all, free of charge, exchange, inclusion, diversity, research and social responsibility.

According to the French Education Code, “higher education establishments are responsible for imparting and acquiring knowledge and working methods. They help to promote gender diversity and equality, particularly in terms of career guidance. They contribute to education in civic responsibility, including the use of the Internet and online public communication services, and help prevent delinquency. They provide training in the knowledge and respect of human rights, and in understanding concrete situations that infringe them. They provide training whose content and methods are adapted to economic, social and cultural developments in the country and its European and international environment”.

Joining the University of Rouen Normandie means embracing these values and defending these public service missions on a daily basis, enabling students to benefit from them.
